ABOUT Ben Borsht

Ben grew up on the water, catching seafood alongside his family in the waters off Moreton Bay almost every weekend.

Born and raised in Brisbane, Ben's family has always been close. After school he worked with his Dad for three years as a builder, often taking a mid-week break together to go out and have a fish. 

His love for fishing, catching and cooking fresh produce has stuck with him growing up. You can catch Ben on the water most weekends still, cooking his fresh produce for friends and family. 

A classic 'Brisbane bloke', Ben has a laid-back approach in the kitchen being able to whip up delicious creations with ease. On the rare occasion Ben is not fishing, he likes to dabble in arts and crafts, making earrings for his wife Caitlyn who is Ben's biggest supporter. 

After nurturing his passion for cooking, whilst being a finalist in MasterChef Australia 2018 with mentors Matt Preston, George Calombaris & Gary Mehigan by his side, Ben is eager to continue his journey with food.

A dream of Ben’s is to start a charter boat company where he would share his love of fishing and fresh seafood with others. After taking guests out for a fish, he would then show them how to whip up a delicious dish with their days catch.
